Foodpanda POS Integration in Pakistan: Run Foodpanda Orders Inside Your Restaurant POS

It is 9 p.m. on a Saturday at a burger and fries place in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. The counter POS is busy with dine-in and takeaway bills. Next to it, the foodpanda tablet keeps chiming. The cashier accepts a foodpanda order, then types the same items into the POS so the kitchen gets a ticket. Ten minutes later, a customer at the counter asks for the last zinger, and nobody remembers that foodpanda still shows it as available. At closing, the owner has two sets of numbers: one from the POS and one from the foodpanda portal.

Many owners in Pakistan joined foodpanda first and bought a POS later, so the two systems grew up side by side. This guide explains what foodpanda POS integration means, how it usually works, and what to ask before you connect the two.

What foodpanda POS integration means

Foodpanda POS integration means foodpanda orders arrive directly in your restaurant POS, next to your counter, table, and phone orders. Instead of reading an order off the tablet and typing it again, the order shows up in the POS, and the kitchen ticket goes out from there.

Without integration, most restaurants work in two places:

  • The foodpanda side: the order-receiving device or app, plus the foodpanda restaurant portal where you see orders, menus, and reports.
  • The POS side: the counter system where you bill walk-in customers, print kitchen tickets, and count the cash drawer.

Integration joins these two sides so the POS becomes the main place where staff handle orders.

The real cost of running two systems

The problem is not the tablet itself. It is the extra work and the gaps it creates on a busy night.

Double entry. Every foodpanda order typed into the POS by hand takes time, and a rushed cashier can skip an item or a note like “no mayo.”

Missed or late orders. When the tablet sits at one end of the counter and the POS at the other, a new order can wait while staff are busy.

Menu that does not match. When an item runs out, staff have to remember to switch it off on foodpanda as well as at the counter. If they forget, a customer orders something the kitchen cannot make.

Two sets of reports. The POS shows one sales total and the foodpanda restaurant portal shows another. Matching them at the end of the day or week becomes a separate job.

We do not repeat the commission side of foodpanda here. If you want to understand how delivery app costs fit into your overall POS budget, read our guide on how much a restaurant POS costs in Pakistan.

How foodpanda POS integration works

Foodpanda publishes its own overview of POS integration on its integration site. In short, it describes two routes:

1. Through your POS provider. If your POS company is already integrated with foodpanda, you sign up and foodpanda connects your restaurant so orders come into that POS.

2. Build your own POS plugin. Foodpanda says this route is for POS companies, not individual restaurants.

So for most restaurant owners, the practical question is simple: is my POS provider already integrated with foodpanda?

What foodpanda API integration covers

When people search for “foodpanda api integration,” they usually mean the technical connection behind this. Foodpanda calls it the Restaurant Integration API, and its integration site lists APIs for order management, menu management, store availability, and reports.

Your POS provider decides which of these it supports. One POS may only receive orders, while another may also let you update your menu. Foodpanda itself notes that menu updates through the POS depend on whether your provider can enable that function. Ask your provider directly instead of assuming.

Do you still need the foodpanda portal and device?

Integration does not remove the foodpanda restaurant portal. You will still use your portal account with foodpanda for things like your listing, performance, and any settings foodpanda manages on its side. According to foodpanda, during setup you can choose to accept or reject orders in your POS directly or on the foodpanda device.

Owners also search for “foodpanda device price in Pakistan.” Prices and terms can vary, so we will not guess a number here. Ask foodpanda through its partner site for Pakistan or the Help section in your partner portal for the current terms on your account.

Which POS supports foodpanda in Pakistan?

Not every POS in Pakistan connects to foodpanda, so check before you buy. On the Blink side, the facts are these: the Blink pricing page lists Foodpanda integration on the BlinkPOS Essential and Integrated plans, and the BlinkPOS page names FoodPanda and Pandago among its pre-integrated partners. If you are comparing options for a restaurant POS in Pakistan, put foodpanda support near the top of your checklist.

Whichever system you consider, ask to see a foodpanda order arrive in the POS during the demo. A slide that says “integrated” is not the same as seeing it work.

Questions to ask before you connect

Write these down and take them to every POS demo:

  • Is your POS already integrated with foodpanda, and is it on the plan I am buying?
  • Will foodpanda orders print to the same kitchen stations as my counter orders?
  • Can I mark an item unavailable in the POS, or do I still need to do it on foodpanda?
  • Can I update menu items and prices from the POS, or only receive orders?
  • Will foodpanda sales show in the same daily report as my counter sales, with a clear label?
  • If I have several branches, can each branch receive its own foodpanda orders?

Closing the day with foodpanda in the POS

When foodpanda orders sit in the same system as your other orders, closing becomes easier to check. You can see foodpanda sales next to dine-in, takeaway, and your own delivery orders, instead of adding two screens together by hand.

Delivery cash still needs care, especially for orders your own riders deliver. We cover that in our post on rider cash at closing, which walks through reconciling cash on delivery without the nightly argument.

For restaurants in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad

If you run a restaurant in one of these cities, our city guides cover what to look for locally: restaurant POS in Karachi, restaurant POS in Lahore, and restaurant POS in Islamabad.

A practical first step

This weekend, during your busiest hour, count how many foodpanda orders your staff type into the POS by hand, and note any item that ran out at the counter but stayed live on foodpanda. That list shows what integration needs to fix. Take it to any POS provider you are considering and ask them to show how foodpanda orders would arrive, print, and report in their system. If you are already looking at Blink, ask about the foodpanda integration on the Essential and Integrated plans.
